Antibody response to human parvovirus B19 in patients with primary infection by immunoblot assay with recombinant proteins.

چکیده
Human parvovirus B19 recombinant VP1 and VP2 capsid proteins were produced by a procaryotic pGEX expression plasmid to evaluate the humoral response by immunoblot assay in 14 patients with primary infection. The same concentrations of VP1 and VP2 recombinant proteins were used. This demonstrates that VP1 immunoglobulin M detection and/or VP1 immunoglobulin G seroconversion is a reliable marker of primary infections. Consequently, detection of antibodies to B19 VP1 might be helpful for identifying patients at risk for chronic B19 infection or patients who are susceptible to viral reinfection.

Frequency of human Parvovirus B19 among patients with respiratory infection in Iran
Background: Human parvovirus B19 was known as one of the possible cause of mild respiratory tract diseases in previous studies. However, there are some reports of acute obstructive respiratory disease and severe pneumonia. The purpose of current study was to assess the prevalence and clinical features of parvovirus B19 in respiratory infection. Methods: This study was conducted on...
متن کاملAnti-VP1 and anti-VP2 antibodies detected by immunofluorescence assays in patients with acute human parvovirus B19 infection.
Acute human parvovirus B19 infection is followed by an antibody response to the structural proteins of the viral capsid (VP1 and VP2). We used 80 sera collected from 58 erythema infectiosum and 6 transient aplastic crisis patients to test IgM and IgG antibodies against these two proteins in an immunofluorescence assay (IFA) using Sf9 cells infected with recombinant baculovirus expressing either...
متن کاملUse of recombinant human parvovirus B19 antigens in serological assays.
AIMS--To compare the sensitivity, specificity, and practicality of recombinant proteins in serological tests for the detection of human parvovirus B19 IgG and IgM. METHODS--Indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assays using B19 structural proteins expressed in Escherichia coli were developed for the detection of B19 specific IgG and IgM (rELISA-G and rELISA-M). Cells infected with baculovirus ex...
متن کاملNo Definite Association between Human Parvovirus B19 Infection and Behçet Disease
Background: The etiology of the Behçet disease (BD) has remained obscured. There have been studies to show the association of BD to infections like herpes simplex, hepatitis, and parvovirus B19 however, the findings are rather controversial.Materials and Methods: We selected 55 patients with the best matched symptoms of BD and measured the loads of B19 DNA in their plasma by quantitative real t...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of neutralizing immune responses to human parvovirus B19 using a novel reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction-based assay.
Infection with human parvovirus B19 causes fifth disease, acute and chronic red cell aplasia, fetal hydrops, arthropathy, and other disorders. Antiviral antibodies limit B19 infection in vivo; however, the identification of serologic markers of protection has been hampered by the lack of a quantitative assay for parvovirus neutralization. A novel in vitro test for parvovirus neutralization has ...
